NDSU Men Play at Kansas City, Omaha this Week

The Games: The North Dakota State men’s basketball team will play a pair of Summit League road games this week, taking on Kansas City on Thursday, Feb. 6, and Omaha on Saturday, Feb. 8.

Against Kansas City: Thursday will be the 26th meeting all-time between NDSU and Kansas City. The Bison hold a 17-8 lead in the series after posting a 71-64 victory in Fargo on Jan. 16 this season.
 
Against Omaha: Saturday will be the 94th meeting between North Dakota State and Omaha dating back to 1935-36. NDSU has a 58-35 lead in the series. The Bison have won 10 of the last 12 over the Mavs, but Omaha earned an 85-80 victory with a second-half comeback in Fargo on Jan. 4 this season.
 
Long Range Attack: The Bison rank second in the country with 12.1 three-pointers made per game. NDSU is fourth nationally in three-point percentage at 39.8 percent this season.
 
High Efficiency: The Bison are ranked third nationally in effective field goal percentage at 58.4 percent, according to KenPom.com.
 
Racking ’em Up: NDSU’s 290 three-pointers made this season already stands at No. 4 on the school’s all-time list for threes in a season. In just 24 games, the Bison have already surpassed the 252 three-pointers made (in 32 games) last year.

Closing In On 1,000: Fifth-year senior Masen Miller needs three points to reach 1,000 points for his career. He scored 670 points in two seasons at Division II Truman State from 2020-22, then added 85 points in two seasons at Indiana State from 2022-24.
 
National Leaderboard: Masen Miller ranks 19th in Division I this season for three-point percentage at 43.8 percent. Jacksen Moni ranks 20th in the nation for scoring at 19.8 points per game.
 
Three Double-Doubles: Three different Bison have recorded double-doubles in Summit League play: Tajavis Miller (14 points, 10 rebounds) vs. Omaha on Jan. 4; Noah Feddersen (16 points, 11 rebounds) at South Dakota on Jan. 18; and Jacksen Moni (24 points, 10 rebounds) vs. North Dakota on Jan. 25.
 
Moni in The Summit: Jacksen Moni ranks second in The Summit League in scoring (21.4 ppg) and third in assists (3.7 apg) in league play. He also stands seventh in the league in rebounding and 10th in field goal percentage.
 
The Big Distributor: Jacksen Moni is one of only three players in the nation 6-10 or taller to average at least 3.8 assists per game this season, joining Coleman Hawkins of Kansas State and Robbie Avila of Saint Louis.
 
The Bombs Away Bison™: NDSU is attempting three-pointers at the highest rate in Division I this season. According to KenPom, 55.7 percent of NDSU’s shots attempted this year have been three-pointers – the highest percentage in the nation.
            46.4 percent of NDSU’s scoring this season has come from three-pointers — the largest share in the nation.
 
Steady Barrage: The Bison have made double digit three-pointers in 15 of the last 18 games.

  • Tajavis Miller is averaging 13.8 points and 6.8 rebounds, shooting 55 percent overall.
