Larson, Wisnewski Clock NDSU Top 10 Times in 200m Dash Friday


COLUMBIA, Mo. – The North Dakota State women’s track & field team competed on the opening day of the Dr. Rick McGuire Invitational hosted by Missouri, with a pair of all-time Top 10 performances in the 200m dash highlighting the efforts of the Bison women on Friday.
 
Sophomore Anika Larson (Cambridge, Minn.) ran a personal-best 24.51 in the 200m dash, placing sixth in the meet and moving up to No. 9 on the NDSU all-time indoor list.
 
Freshman Elise Wisnewski (Casselton, N.D.) tied her indoor 200m personal-best with a time of 24.53, ranking her 10th in NDSU history.
 
Merrideth Spiers placed third in the weight throw, posting the second-best mark of her career at 64-07.25 (19.69m). Annabel Thorstenson was ninth with a season-best 59-02.75 (18.05m).
 
Senior Grace Emineth finished fourth in the long jump with a mark of 19-11 (6.07m), and freshman Nyariek Kur took seventh with a jump of 18-11.75 (5.78m).
 
Jacee Johannsen placed fourth in the pole vault, clearing 13-04.25 (4.07m). Julia Gherardi vaulted a season-best 12-10.25 (3.92m) to tie for seventh.
 
Competition will continue Saturday at Mizzou.
