In the Rankings
North Dakota State’s Gavin Drexler and Kyle Burwick appear in both the FloWrestling and InterMat rankings this week for the Bison, while Aidan Brenot is ranked in Flo. Gavin Drexler is at No. 25 in the Flo rankings and No. 29 in IntertMat, while Burwick is No. 31 in Flo and No. 25 in InterMat. Brenot appears in the Flo rankings at No. 32. Max Petersen appeared in the InterMat rankings after the Southern Scuffle, but fell out during an idle week last weekend. Tayshaun Glover has also made spot appearances in the rankings in recent weeks.

Wrapping the Scuffle
North Dakota State finished with six placers at the Southern Scuffle in Chattanooga, led by Max Petersen, who took second overall at 157 pounds. The Bison finished fifth overall out of 23 teams in the field. Kyle Burwick, Boeden Greenley and Aidan Brenot all took fourth overall, with all three securing ranked victories in their tournaments. Witt, Glover Claim Ranked Wins In Dual Debuts
Ezekiel Witt pinned No. 28 Anthony Molton in the 125-pound match against Campbell at the Knockout Christmas Classic earlier this season. Leading 4-2 in the third period, Witt flipped Molton in a reversal, putting the Camel wrestler on his back and securing the pin.

A week prior, Tayshaun Glover secured a ranked win against Iowa State, as he came from behind to defeat No. 22 Christian Carroll with an 8-5 decision.

Prior to this year, Adam Cherne picked up a major decision against #19 Giuseppe Hoose of Oklahoma on November 19, 2023. It’s the third-straight season an NDSU wrestler has topped a ranked opponent in their collegiate dual debut, with Juan Mora also doing it in the season opener at Nebraska in 2022-23.

Up Next
