What a way it was for Nacua to return to the field. After missing five straight games with a knee injury, Nacua shockingly came back for Week 8 against the Vikings and didn’t miss a beat. Despite only playing 41 snaps (57%), he caught a team-high seven passes for 106 yards.
Brian Flores said this week that the Vikings were caught off guard by Nacua’s unexpected return, finding out only hours before kickoff that he’d be playing. It showed, too. They had no answer for the star receiver, whether it was on in-breaking routes, screen passes or short throws where he picked up big yardage after the catch.
The Vikings will probably have a much better game plan for Nacua this time around, but he’s not an easy assignment for any cornerback.
