Omaha Beats Bison with Second-Half Rally

FARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota State men’s basketball team built a 12-point lead over Omaha with 12 minutes remaining, but the Mavericks rallied late for an 85-80 win on Saturday afternoon inside the Scheels Center.
 
NDSU led 59-47 with 12 minutes left, but Omaha outscored the Bison with a 38-21 run to close the game. The Mavericks made 9-of-13 from three-point range (69 percent) in the second half.
 
With NDSU leading 66-62, Omaha drained three-pointers on three straight possessions to go up 71-66 with five minutes left.
 
The Bison shot 42 percent overall for the game and made 13-of-34 (38 percent) from beyond the arc.
 
Senior Jacksen Moni led NDSU with 23 points. Masen Miller scored a season-high 20 with five three-pointers. Tajavis Miller recorded his third career double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
 
NDSU fell to 11-6 overall and 0-2 in The Summit League. Omaha improved to 8-9 overall and 2-0 in the league. The Bison had won 10 of the last 11 over the Mavs.
 
The Bison will go on the road next week to play at Oral Roberts on Jan. 9 and at Denver on Jan. 11.
