Another week brought another win for the Minnesota Vikings. Although Lumen Field is not an easy place to play, Kevin O’Connell’s team knocked off the Seattle Seahawks. Now with 13 wins to their credit, they’ll look for a second against the Green Bay Packers in Week 17.
Minnesota Vikings poised to knock off the Green Bay Packers again
The Minnesota Vikings traveled to Lambeau Field in late September to play their top rival. O’Connell’s squad left with a 31-29 victory over Matt LaFleur’s unit and the game was truly never that close. Now hosting the final matchup at U.S. Bank Stadium, the tilt is theirs to lose.
Home field advantage is traditionally suggested to be worth three points. U.S. Bank Stadium presents a sizable challenge for opposing teams, but the Packers are no pushover. Although they weren’t really in the first contest, Jordan Love played at much less than 100%.

This time around both teams are relatively healthy, and it will be a matchup of juggernaut teams in a division that should be considered the best in football. Green Bay enters on a short week after a Monday Night Football game against the New Orleans Saints. That may present a slight advantage for Minnesota.
In their first matchup Sam Darnold threw for 275 yards with three touchdowns and an interception. Aaron Jones came up just seven yards shy of the century mark against his former team. Justin Jefferson led the receiving corps with 85 yards.

Minnesota allowed Love to tally 389 yards and four touchdowns, but they picked him off on three separate occasions. Running back Josh Jacobs only generated 51 yards on nine carries.

The Vikings have a chance to secure the top overall seed by winning their final two contests. It’s one week at a time for Minnesota though, and that means holding serve against Green Bay. The final two weeks of the regular season should be a doozy.
