5 Things to Know About Vikings New LB Jamin Davis

Davis played college football at the University of Kentucky, where he started 11 of 36 games over three seasons. He totaled 144 tackles, 2.5 sacks, five interceptions, 5.0 tackles for loss, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and three passes defensed.

After he racked up 102 tackles and three interceptions as a junior in 2020, Davis was named First-Team All-SEC by analytics site Pro Football Focus. He was one of just four SEC players that year to average 10-plus tackles per game.

Davis wore the jersey No. 44 in honor of his grandmother, who tragically passed away at just 44 years old.

The 2021 NFL Scouting Combine was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but Davis garnered an abundance of attention after his pro day performance, where his 42-inch vertical jump would have ranked second among all players at the 2020 combine.

A NASCAR enthusiast, Davis also showed some big-time footspeed. He logged unofficial 40-yard dash times of 4.41 and 4.37 seconds, the latter of which would have ranked fourth among all combine participants.
